5 Simple Tips to Save Money and Spend Smarter

A little effort today can save a lot tomorrow

Saving money doesn’t have to be hard. Small changes in daily habits can make a big difference. Here are some easy ways I’ve learned to save money and spend smarter!

1. App Detox

By removing shopping apps from my phone and turning off notifications, I’ve been able to avoid impulsive purchases and unnecessary distractions. I didn’t have too many apps before, but I still found myself scrolling and feeling tempted to buy things I didn’t need. Now, I’ve kept only essential ones, like Amazon and a grocery store app, to stay in control of my spending and focus on more important priorities.

2. Water Savings

Switching from sugary drinks to drinking more water at home has saved me money since I no longer spend on juices, which can add up over time. Water is inexpensive and always available. Even though I only drank one glass of sugary drinks a day, making this change still saves me money every week while improving my daily habits.

3. Self Ironing

A few years ago, I used to send my clothes out for ironing, but I decided to start doing it myself. This small change has saved me a significant amount of money. Outsourcing ironing adds up over time, but now I just put in a little effort. It’s a small habit that has made a big difference in cutting unnecessary expenses.

4. Smart Subscriptions

I’ve started using trials or one-month subscriptions before committing to an annual plan to ensure the service is worth it. In the past, I bought annual plans for apps, only to realize after a month that they didn’t suit me. Now, I try shorter plans first, and if the service proves valuable, I upgrade to an annual subscription to save in the long run. This approach helps me make smarter, more cost-effective decisions.

5. Sale Strategy

I save money by stocking up on regularly used expensive items during sales, avoiding full price whenever possible. I don’t stockpile or create clutter—I only buy one extra pack to store. While I don’t always shop during sales, I make an effort to buy pricier items at a discount. If I need something urgently and there’s no sale, I still purchase it. This balanced approach helps me control expenses without overstocking.

I’m not an expert, but these small changes have made a big difference in managing my expenses and improving my habits. Your feedback is always welcome, and stay tuned for more tips in my upcoming article!

Your engagement till the end is truly appreciated. Until next time, stay well and keep learning.
